Une périphérie urbaine hivernale. Une jeune femme, à un tournant de sa vie, évolue dans un environnement aseptisé. Il est question de procédures : sanitaires, funéraires, aussi. Elle semble parée pour une lutte secrète, telle un samouraï des temps présents. Mais son combat, intérieur, consiste à laisser affleurer les sentiments, à convoquer les émotions véritables dans un cadre protocolaire exsangue. Alors, comme autant de talismans, elle convoque les figures d’êtres chers, cristallisant des instants de tendresse ou de cruautés quotidiennes.

Graduated in filmmaking at the University of Paris 8, Camille Degeye joined the associative labs L’etna and L’abominable where she trained as a self-taught analog filmmaker. Her previous three films have been shown in international festivals such as BISFF Busan, EIFF Edinburgh or JCC Tunis and awarded in France and Italy. Her short film Journey Throw a Body, the first piece of a trilogy in progress, is selected for the 58th Cannes Critic’s week. Almost a Kiss is the second part. She is currently in the third part, the short film Discipline, as well as her first feature film, Sphinx, Prix Step 2020 awarded by the Critics’ Week.
