Wooden Shjips
At last, a band with an appealing name. Wooden Shjips, the kings of present-day psych core!
Band leader Erik ‘Ripley’ Johnson is an ardent fan of road trips and camping in the wilds of California around Lake Tahoe and Yosemite. The urge for freedom is absolutely clear in their blistering desert sound.
The quartet is coming to Brussels to present the successor to their already legendary West album: Back To Land. That title you can certainly take literally: after a single listening session it feels as if you are being swallowed up by the warm earth and that is a feeling you never want to lose. Or have we just inhaled too deeply on their not-so-legal rolled cigarette?
The Cosmic Dead
The poster would not be complete without a couple of strong psychedelic Scots with (red) beards. The Cosmic Dead is crossing The Channel to convince us of their trippy acid rock.

Autumn Falls is taking over clubs in Brussels again for a fourth edition in 2013. Numerous sold-out shows by Low, Pinback, SX, Beach House, Ty Segall, WHY?, Metronomy, Ólafur Arnalds and Nils Frahm among others, made for memorable previous editions. This year moreover, the indoor city festival will not be limited to just one week, but it will extend over a longer period, from late November until the first week of December. The aim is, as always, to present a first-rate line-up with an eye for both audience favourites and exciting new discoveries.
Autumn Falls is a partnership between Toutpartout, the partaking venues in Brussels (this year: Botanique, AB, Cirque Royal, Beursschouwburg, Maison des Musiques, Vk*, Atelier 210 and DNA) and the local concert organisations Buzz On Your Lips and Heartbreaktunes. Toutpartout was founded in 1994 and organises shows for national and international acts in the Benelux, as well as entire tours throughout Europe.
In whatʼs becoming a tradition, a limited number of “early bird” tickets are available as of now, giving access to all the festival shows for €50. More info about the programme and tickets are to be found on the website:
